Our bridges

Low level concrete submersible bridges.

Our low level concrete submersible bridges are built to handle a full highway load (HN HO-72) and withstand being over-topped several times a year. They are designed to maintain both water flow and fish passage and are considered a relatively low flood hazard risk. Installation of these slim profile bridges is straight-forward, and their low level can often avoid the need to obtain building consent.

Key features

Read more about the terms below in our Glossary Page

High load bearing capacity

Provide excellent strength to support heavy loads, such as vehicles and fully laden logging trucks.

Adaptable design

Can be created and installed in waterway crossings with different widths and alignments. Beams can span up to 12m in length.

Submersible capability

Designed to withstand temporary submersion during floods. Feature reinforced components to endure water pressure and debris.

Reduced hydraulic impact

Water flows over them during floods, reducing upstream buildup and supporting natural floodplain dynamics.

Modular construction

Modular precast concrete beams are made off-site. Quicker on-site installation reduced costs.

Minimal Maintenance

Low maintenance and durable concrete slab that resists water damage and erosion. Fewer repairs are needed compared to complex structures.
