Award-Winning Bridge Solution for Urban Ecosanctuary
AwardsWe are delighted to be recognised for our two pedestrian bridges that form part of New Zealand's largest urban wetland redevelopment, the Kopurererua Valley.
These bridges are designed for pedestrian / cycleway loads or to take a 0.85HN loading up to HNHO72 (or overload). They can be made in modular sections, so the bridge can be easily relocated and transformed into a shorter span bridge. The width of Upright Truss bridges can also be customised to suit your needs. The superstructure of an Upright Truss bridge sits above the deck rather than beneath it, allowing for lower approaches on either side. This is ideal when space is tight or the approach height needs to be kept to a minimum to avoid extra retaining work or to maintain a low gradient.
An accessible and versatile solution. Flexible spans and widths, and superstructure above the deck for maximum clearance and reduced approach heights.
Engineered to support a wide range of loads, from pedestrian and cycleway use, to Full HN-HO-72 highway standards or higher.
Flexible and reusable. Modular components are easily disassembled for relocation, adapted to shorter spans for multiple sites, or installed in challenging, hard-to-reach areas.
The superstructure sits above the deck rather than beneath it. The open and upright framework allows for easy access to structural components for inspections and repairs.
Lattice-like design adds charm to any landscape. Options for colour, deck type, handrails, and decorative features make this bridge highly customisable and visually appealing.
A robust design offering lasting strength and reliability. Can last for over 100 years if designed and maintained well. Dependable performance in any environment.

Improving pedestrian access has been a long-held dream of the Kaiwaka community. SH1 cuts the historic Northland settlement in half, with thousands of cars and heavy haulage trucks making the road difficult and dangerous to cross in the centre of town.
